All the Principals of the affiliated colleges and constituent Units of JNTUA offering M.Tech/M.Pharmacy courses are hereby informed that as per the directions of the Honourable Vice Chancellor,"Plagiarism Check" shall be implemented for all M.Tech and M.Pharmacy Projects from 1st July 2014 onwards. The guidelines for implementation of "Plagiarism Check" are given below:
1. The Colleges have to obtain the anti-plagiarism software either by downloading it freely from open source web sites or by purchasing a licensed software. Each M.Tech/M.Pharmacy Project is to be checked for anti-plagiarism and the report generated by the software, duly attested by the Supervisor and the Principal, shall be enclosed in the Project Report,after the certificate from the Supervisor.
2. The Project Report is acceptable only when the similarity given by the report is not more than 30%
3. While sending the Project Viva-Voce Panels to the Director of Evaluation, the Principal shall certify that the anti-plagiarism check is carried out as per guidelines for all the students for whom the panels are proposed and the Principal shall also enclose the copies of anti-plagiarism reports of the projects concerned.
4. The external examiner appointed for conducting Project Viva-Voce shall verify the anti-plagiarism report without fail before conducting the Viva-Voce. The Viva-Voce shall not be conducted for a student if (a) the anti-plagiarism report is not included in the Project Report or (b) if the similarity as per the report is more than 30%. In all such cases, the student shall be asked to revise and resubmit the Project Report and the Principal shall submit a new panel of examiners for conduct of Viva-Voce after satisfactory anti-plagiarism report.
5. The autonomous colleges under the jurisdiction of JNTUA are also requested to implement the "Plagiarism Check" for M.Tech/M.Pharmacy courses under autonomous stream.
"The cooperation and support of all the Principals is requested in this regard to improve the quality of M.Tech./M.Pharmacy Project works".
